Neo-Renaissance Andalusian Artist - Maria-Teresa Miriel

If there were ever an artist that is made for the world of Interior Design it is Maria Teresa Miriel.  She has an extensive background in art and her particular life long love of Italian Renaissance allows creations which are not copies but rather reworkings for the buildings she decorates and artworks she brings to life.
Florentine Scene - oil on baord - with ground of 22 carat gold foil (as http://www.fineartpartnership.com/ )

She has been an integral part of the visual, mural and decorative restoration of Italian and Spanish villas to ancient private chapels and whether you choose to own a painting of a regal Count for your entrance hall or over mantle, or select a series of Renaissance Servants to process around the walls of your dining room, the viewer is overwhelmed by the presence of the figures which populate her paintings.

For instance, the works which can be seen by browsing http://www.fineartpartnership.com/ are inspired in some cases by the anonymous work which the artists describes as being her inspiration:

"......Basically this series of noble figures were in the Baronnial Room, I suppose it was the noble area of the Castle..... no one knows for certain who painted these figures, but they are clearly Italian with French influence. The date, without any great accuracy, is 1430 .... The old castle where the originals were discovered and from which I painted mine, was in Piemonte, Italy"

Born  in Chile in 1949 she studied Art initially in Santiago, and then in Madrid, Barcelona, Florence and Paris, as well as most lately decorative arts in London.  Her studies covered degrees in textile design, silkscreen, decorative effects., oil, acrylics, charcoals, and mixed media.  Her work is even more attractive when one considers she has only exhibited locally in Spain, but her clientele is entirely international, with designers and collectors around the globe commissioning and buying her work.
Tete (as she is known to her friends) lives in Andalucia, the beautiful Sotogrande, with husband, dog and her magical studio.

It should be noted that all of Maria Teresa-Miriel's work can be recreated to size and in variations for the individual client / interior decorator - Please contact enquiries@tfapl.com without obligation to ask about commission works.

  1. I got to know Tete Miriel and her paintings two years ago and they are magnificient. Photographs don't quite do them justice. Her style is incredibly versatile and she is just as adept at neo-Impressionism. Her still lifes are marvellous, huge and colourful and so laden with fruit that you just want to grab an orange or banana from the painting. Her paintings of lions, leopards and zebras are beautifully exotic. It would seem she can adapt any style, paint any subject, and still transmit in all her work her delightful personality. I strongly recommend to check out her website, although nothing can replace seeing her work close up and meeting the artist in person.

  3. The Neo-Renaissance paintings are most decorative with their fine colour combinations.
Their style and elegance would transform the atmosphere of any room.

  4. I have for many years, now, followed with admiration and not a little envy the artistic development of Teresa Miriel. From her colourful still lives, through her striking animal studies and on to her beautifully executed Renaissance themed works Teresa reflects the vibrancy and rich colours of both her native Chile and her chosen Mediterranean home. Such offerings, from an artist, who really understands and excels in interior design could only enhance the decor of any discerning patron's home or work place and enrich the experience of all who see them.

  5. I have known Tete Miriel for years and followed her artistic career with great interest. Truthfully, the pictures don't make justice to the incredible beauty of her work.
The brightness and the great color scheme of her paintings will light up any room. A painting of hers is a painting that anyone would love to have in their home, beautiful, excellent, and vibrant.

  6. I have long been an admirer of the work of Tete and am particularly impressed with her latest paintings
reflecting Renaissance life and architecture. These works have a striking ,yet, elegant charm which would add greatly to
the ambiance of any fashionable residence or to the warm of a simple home.

Tete shows in her painting the wealth of experience gained from many years of success as an interior designer working with demanding clients of many nationalities and tastes, having become widely recognised and admired in her Andalucian home.

Tete's Renaissance paintings are outstandingly beautiful. A brilliant and versatile artist over a whole range of works, she has demonstrated a rare and creative talent. Her paintings reflect the brightness and sunshine of the part of Spain she has chosen to live. Over centuries artistic masters have found this part of Spain enhances their work. Tete has followed on this path. In addition she has taken her skills from canvas to cloth and from wood to plaster. She has an exciting portfolio which somehow she is always capable of enhancing.

  9. I first met Tete when she was commissioned to faux paint the walls and ceilings in my daughters home in Spain - the ceiling in the main hall/foyer is magnificent beautifully painted-some 35 ft long and visitors look reverently at it as though it were in the Sistine Chapel - a work of art in itself!!!!
Then I had the good fortune to be able to buy a painting of a lion - it has pride of place in my drawing room in England and anyone who visits gravitates to it because it is so lifelike - a beautiful painting to own. Anyone who commissions this talented woman to work on a portrait/fabric or house will get the utmost commitment and she gives 100% to everything she does.
